How do I prepare for a German roach treatment?

Modified on Tue, 3 Nov at 10:44 AM

German roaches are very treatable when we work together. Please complete these steps before your technician arrives.

Before your treatment

Clean the kitchen

Wipe down countertops, stovetops and sinks. Sweep and mop if you can.

Empty cabinets and drawers

Set food, dishes, utensils and small appliances on a table or in sealed containers, away from treatment areas.

Clear the top of the fridge

We'll pull it out to treat behind it.

Empty under the sinks

So we can reach the plumbing.

Protect food and pets

Seal or remove exposed food. Remove or cover pet food, water bowls, aquariums and bird cages. Turn off aquarium air pumps and cover the tank.

After your treatment

  • Don't clean treated areas (baseboards, cabinet interiors, behind appliances) for 24 hours.
  • Keep counters and floors dry and crumb-free.
  • Take the trash out daily.
  • Store food in sealed containers.

Don't skip the follow-up

German roaches reproduce quickly, so a follow-up visit in about 10–14 days is critical to break the egg cycle. Please plan to allow access for that visit.
